For over 300 years, the many navies of the world served daily rum rations. The
Ship's Purser served sailors from one to six 'tots' of rum, depending on the
conditions of war and weather. The rum ration tradition continued until the
1950s. Handmade in brass, silver-plated inside. The Rum Cup measures 1/2 Gill,
equivalent to 1/8 of a pint.
